About the Project

Our client is currently in the newbuilding phase of a next-generation Subsea Rock Installation (SRI) vessel, purpose-built for high-precision offshore rock placement. As they progress toward operational readiness, they’re looking to bring onboard an experienced Captain or First Mate as a consultant — someone who can bring real-world insight to the design, procedures, and safety planning of this complex offshore asset.

Role Overview

In this short-term, high-impact consultancy role, you’ll work closely with our project, engineering, and HSEQ teams to ensure the vessel is not just built right — but built to operate safely and efficiently from day one.

Your contributions will include:
- Reviewing and validating vessel design and systems from an operational standpoint.

- Advising on procedures for rock installation, tremie pipe handling, and DP operations.

- Assisting in the creation of safety procedures, risk assessments, and fallback protocols.

- Providing input on crew workflows, deck layout, and operational best practices.

Your Profile

We’re looking for a seasoned maritime professional with:
- Proven experience as Captain or First Mate on Subsea Rock Installation vessels.
- In-depth knowledge of tremie pipe deployment and subsea rock placement.
- Familiarity with DP2 operations, offshore construction, and vessel commissioning.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across disciplines.

Availability for 1 day per week (on-site in Rotterdam) over the next 2 months.

What We Offer
- A unique opportunity to influence the design and operations of a cutting-edge offshore vessel.

- Flexible consultancy arrangement with competitive compensation.

- Collaboration with a passionate, multidisciplinary team at the forefront of maritime innovation.
