Job Title: Cook
Location: Onboard Heavy Lifting Vessel
Reports to: Chief Steward / Vessel Master

Job Purpose:
The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for the crew and any additional personnel onboard, ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, and maritime standards.

Key Responsibilities:


Meal Preparation & Service

Plan and prepare daily menus (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) for crew and guests.
Cater to dietary restrictions and cultural preferences when possible.
Ensure meals are served on time and in an organized manner.



Food Safety & Hygiene

Maintain strict hygiene standards in the galley and storage areas.
Follow HACCP principles and maritime food safety regulations.
Monitor food quality and expiration dates.



Inventory & Procurement

Manage food stock levels and report shortages to the Chief Steward.
Assist in ordering provisions and ensure proper storage (dry, chilled, frozen).
Minimize waste through efficient planning.



Galley Maintenance

Keep kitchen equipment clean and in good working order.
Report any equipment malfunctions promptly.
Dispose of waste according to vessel procedures.



Compliance & Safety

Adhere to company policies, maritime regulations, and safety protocols.
Participate in emergency drills and safety training.
Maintain records of meals served and inventory as required.




Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Culinary training or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years as a cook, preferably in offshore or maritime environments.
Certifications:

STCW Basic Safety Training
Food Handling & Hygiene Certificate


Skills:

Ability to work under pressure and in confined spaces.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
