Position: 2nd Engineer Vessel Type: Heavy-Lift Vessel Job Description: We are currently seeking qualified 2nd Engineers to join our heavy-lift vessel team. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in their rank and possess a strong, hands-on mentality, ready to manage technical challenges on board. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and maintain the operational performance of all machinery on board. - Assist the Chief Engineer in managing the engine room and other technical aspects of the vessel. - Perform routine inspections and ensure that equipment and machinery are in safe working order. - Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary machinery. - Monitor and control engine performance, fuel consumption, and environmental systems. - Ensure all equipment complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Requirements: - Valid and up-to-date 2nd Engineer certification (STCW III/2). - Experience in a similar role, particularly on heavy-lift vessels or similar. - Strong hands-on mentality with excellent problem-solving skills. - Ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenging situations. - Proficiency in English (both written and verbal). Additional Qualifications: - Experience with large marine engines, hydraulic systems, and cranes. - Good knowledge of planned maintenance systems (PMS). - Strong teamwork and communication skills.
