1 Responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks as well as maintenance of Bridge non navigational electronic equipment on board the vessel. x 2 Reports Reports directly to Chief Engineer and manages and provides hardware ,software maintenance ,training and consultation and recommendation about future projects, planning and development of resources. x 3 Shipboard Management Works with Senior Shipboard Management team to maintain operational efficiency and effectiveness with all on board systems. 4 Liaises Liaises with shore side IT department for guidance if required. 5 Responsibilities Manages all IT operations on vessel equipped with advances technology combined with larger number of point of sale systems, computers, servers etc. to maintain and support 6 Responsibilities Monitors , maintains and troubleshoots all computer equipment ,including but not limited to, the network infrastructure ,television and satellite voice and data transmissions(C-band, Inmarsat A,B,C.M) Mini –M, Call Router ,PBX, Call Accounting etc.as well as Internet 7 Maintains Maintains some marine equipment ,excluding navigational – related equipment. 8 Conducts Conducts on board training and orientation to new users as it relates to software knowledge ie INFO SHIP EVO planned maintenance system. 9 Liaise Liaise with guests as it relates to the use of on board internet services to ensure guest satisfaction. 10 Company Policy Read and understand new CMI SMS. 11 Assistance Assist Chief Electrician to repair/servicing electronic equipment when necessary through Chief Engineer. 12 Keep Chief Engineer continually informed on all matters of consequence relating to his activity. 13 Information Technology . Liaise with shore side Fleet Technical Director as well as company IT Administrator for guidance as required Manages all IT Operations on vessels equipped with advanced technology. This includes maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and support the following: Network – Cable distribution for WIFI, Switches, AP’s or other type of distribution; Servers and Computers - that includes POS’s, Navigation Computer, and special computers of engine and bridge on hardware level (software level when has certification); Printers – all printers, including Engine and bridge printers; Television – TV distribution (amplifiers, cable distribution, TV’s, Signage); PBX - distribution, phone terminals, VoIP; Satellite antennas for data, television and VoIP (V-Sat, FBB, Iridium, 4G); Door Locks – All electronic door locks and computer for programming keys. PA System - liaise with Chief Electrician on repairing and maintaining; Radio – programming and maintaining the VHF/UHF handheld radios on board (except the navigation radios). Liaise with Chief Electrician for the maintenance of all the external antennas.; Conducts onboard training and orientation to new users as it relates to software knowledge Liaise with Guests as it relates to the use of onboard internet services to ensure guest satisfaction Completes IT related reporting both onboard and shore side.
